Our agency team have been celebrating after completing a series of retail deals across the Midlands, reporting strong demand throughout the region.
Despite warnings of a subdued final quarter for the UK commercial property market, the team has secured sales and lettings on a variety of properties, reflecting the strong appetite for retail space in the Midlands.
Recent deals include the letting of a former pharmacy at 2 Moat Road, Walsall, which is now occupied as a beauty salon, alongside the letting of 81-83 High Street, Bromsgrove, to a furniture retailer. Our agency team has seen a rise in SMEs jumping at prime retail locations across the region, thanks to more flexible leases, better terms, and availability in high footfall areas, driving growth and visibility.
Investment activity has also remained strong with the sale of a former Greggs unit at 143 High Street, Bloxwich, and the disposal of 17 Church Square, Oldbury – a former bank with residential accommodation above – both completed to private investors.
Richard Bache, Partner in the Commercial Agency team, said: “Despite wider market commentary, the Midlands retail market continues to present real opportunity for businesses of all sizes. Our recent deals perfectly reflect the strength of the Midlands market as we help growing brands to secure prime space. After such a strong end to 2025, we’re really looking forward to the year ahead.”
